Basically, soldering is a material-to-material joining technology that can be divided into high-temperature soldering (>900 °C), hard soldering (>450 °C) and soft soldering (<450 °C). The processes can be carried out flux-free in a vacuum, under protective gas or in the atmosphere. Metals, light metals, non-ferrous metals, precious metals, ceramics or even glasses can be bonded together with this. The special thing about additive build-up soldering is that no components are joined, but a metallic or metal-ceramic coating is created by applying solderable materials.

Depending on the requirements, nickel, cobalt, iron and copper-based solders are used for the coatings developed by EUROMAT. In addition, the solders can be mixed with hard materials such as carbides, borides, silicides, diamonds, oxides, CBn or hard material mixtures, for example to achieve special surface properties such as wear resistance, sliding behavior, high-temperature strength, running-in behavior or abrasion resistance. Proven hard materials are WC, CrC, TiC, SiC or NbC.

EUROMAT analyzes your application, advises on the choice of coating/process and offers the appropriate coating service.
